This traditional exercise performed better. I am using the Vortex Pro-Trainer I which combines weight stack loading with resistance bands for enhanced stimulus throughout ROM. Notice the static contraction (hold) with each rep at the bottom. This version is also tremendously effective in improving grip strength as I am utilizing thick handles. Can be performed on any dual weight stack machine.
Coaching Cues:
►Keep chest high; shoulders down and back
►Tight grip; wrists straight throughout
►Initiate rep from scapula
►Bring elbow towards ribcage, and hold tight as rep is completed on opposite side
