The great tenor Carlo Cossutta singing this beautiful piece from the argentinian opera Aurora composed by Hector(Ettore) Panizza and libretto by Luigi Illica and Héctor Cipriano Quesada.
The "song to the flag" for the argentinian people it is like the second national anthem in almost the same way that is for the italian Verdi's "va pensiero"
the original italian text was this;
Alta pel cielo, un'aquila guerriera,
ardita s'erge in volo trionfale.
Ha un'ala azzurra, del color del mare,
ha un'ala azzurra, del color del cielo.
Così nell'alta aurora irradiale,
il rostro d'or punta di freccia appare,
porpora il teso collo e forma stelo,
l'ali son drappo e l'aquila è bandiera.
È la bandiera del Paese mio,
nata dal sole; e ce l'ha data Iddio!
High in the sky, there is an eagle warrior
bold rises on triumphant flight.
Has a blue wing, for the color of the sea,
has a blue wing, the color of the sky.
So during the dawn irradiance,
of the rostrum arrowhead appears
purple stretch the neck and stem form,
the wings are cloth and the eagle is the flag.
It is the flag of my country,
born from the sun, that God has given us!
Oigo esta canción y me es imposible detener el llanto. Le he cantado miles de veces y aún me emociona Dios salve a mi querida Patria!!! Gloria por siempre a la más hermosa entre las hermosas!!!
