@BladefulArt yes fully equiped shops...in their back yards..i never said they did bad work. Some do good work. Most hack away. I wasn't meaning my comment as a knock at backyard bladesmiths. I was knocking the Canadian knife industry. Which is pretty much non-existant except for the small one man operations. The points you brought up in your response make me think of chinese knives sold through american "manufacturers". Hmm.**cough**.Hm..Coldsteel, sog, mantis etc.But not to mention names.

If only that was true. Unfortunately, well established business plans in addition to good marketing methods can keep a company in businesses rather their products be good or bad. I realize that apparently none of you actually read what I typed-I never once said their knives wasn't good-refer to my old post and try again.

@HalfLifeAMD I suggest you to do a bit of research. The knife industry is at where its at today because of factories not properly sharpening their blades , falsely or vaguely label the steel , don't have sheaths with their knives , etc. You will also quickly realize that well established makers do not "work out of their back yard" as you say, you should be interested to know that most of the well established makers work from fully equiped shops.

We all know that a custom made knife appeals to a customer more, thats pretty much a fact, but a factory can produce just as good quality

BladefulArt is a bit of a dick. these are one of the best utility knife makers in the United States. You try buying a decent knife at a good price made in the United States.
