Minarets Ban in Switzerland [HQ]

Swiss ban on minarets is not merely the result of a referendum. It is rather reflective of the vulnerability of the value system the West feels in the wake of resurgence of Islam in Europe with all its ideological and practical manifestations. Ban is symbolic of the effort to preserve the identity against the rapid onslaught of the demographic change that is tilting towards the Muslim entity in Europe. Swiss ban is being interpreted as a shield to the threat of extremist tendencies the Europeans have harboured since 9/11 in particular and Swiss in particular after Moammar Qaddafi has captured two Swiss citizens as hostage to get one of his sons released by Swiss authorities. The prevalent face of Islam is deemed to be devoid of human rights and individual liberty the cornerstone of European civilization. Question arises what is the significance of Swiss ban for Muslims in the world? There are 400,000 Muslims living in Switzerland and they are merged into the value system of Europe but the collective ( 57.7 per cent at least) approach of Swiss against the ban will definitely distort its image as a society the foundations of which are erected on human rights, social welfare and accommodation of diverse nationalities and cultures. Can the resurgence of Muslim culture and value system be banned by banning scarf and burqa or by provoking anti Muslim sentiments in Europe?

Another argument goes that no civilization can overwhelm universally unless its objective to benefit the world is universal. Islam in it is spirit has an all embracing approach but the practical manifestation of its leading groups is reflective of nuisance value its followers pose to the world. Violence against women; imposition of our moral codes on others; launching attacks against the infidels, interpreting Islam in a radical way and blocking the ways of genuine human progress in science and technology are the characteristics of the brand of Islam that is visible and this is the very brand that actually threatens the values of the foreign nations.
