  • Was Joe flying this plane? He usually does the Hay River flight. Good video...and Buffalo operates the one and only DC-3 in the world that still has a scheduled passenger run.

  • @lexany I don't remember the pilot's name but it could be Joe. Buffalo staff are great, all of them. I wrote them a few month in advance to be sure to fly a DC-3 and I had a warm welcome. If you love aviation, you must go there and fly with them!

  • A DC-3 is an unpressurized aircraft, the airframe's lifespan is practically unlimited as far as i know

  • calling a flying coffin a DC3..dude show some respect!

  • Buffalo does the Hay River to Yellowknife run as a scheduled passenger service but they also haul freight and people with DC-3s all over, and freight and bulk fuel with DC-4s and C-46s all over Canada and even outside Canada. You can charter a Buffalo DC-3 to haul passengers or cargo anywhere, anytime you need to go.

  • @crabmaniac1 only Buffalo still fly the DC3 but it only flys this route.

  • That was fantastic.... I have not been on a 3 in years.

  • just awesome....incredible......maybe not incredible.........just awesome

  • I like the DC3 but would rather ride on the DC4

  • @ sibtupolev - Joe owns Buffalo Airways but lives in Hay River so usually flies the 3 to get home. I do love aviation and have had tons of DC-3 flights.

  • Nothing but respect for an aircraft that is still viable OVER 70 YEARS after it was introduced. And listen to those gorgeous radials purr - simply beautiful

  • NOVA did a great episode on this aircraft, reviewing how several innovations in aircraft design all came together at the same time to produce a very rugged machine that could be modified for many applications. The title was "The Plane that Changed the World".
