Modeled after the Harlem Children's Zone, the New Town Success Zone initiative partnered with Baptist Health and the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida to conduct a "porch to porch" health care needs assessment. The New Town Health Project seeks to gain a better understanding of the health disparities and barriers to accessing health care. New Town Success Zone residents, business owners, sororities, church members and college students came together to launch the New Town Health Project which will train Health Builders to conduct focus groups and community surveys. The New Town Health Project is funded by the Jessie Ball duPont Fund
