At the end of the General Audience on July 8th, Benedict XVI met with the spouses of some of the political leaders currently gathered in Italy for the G8 summit, as well as with the president of the IFAD, the United Nations Fund for Agricultural Development, and the wife of the President of the European Commission.Before the encounter and at the end of the catechesis, the Pope invited the faithful to pray for the summit.
