Search for the famous picture of Raaff as Idomeneo, the skirt is there. Actually I would say that the costumes here are pretty tame compared to some of the opera seria costumes from that period.

I love the dress! And I love Kenny!

Does anyone have the English translation for this? I'm not finding one online...

Mozart wrote this when she was 14 .. I sometimes wonder if he really is the greatest, and when I hear things like that I can only reply: "YES!"

Agreed!

This just does nothing for me. There is no passion at all. Nice set and costumes.

@jaason53 This is not an opera, and you will agree with me: THIS IS A MIRACLE!!! :o)

@Thrax1982 The concept for the embroidered panel of her costume is most possibly inspired by the work of English artist Mary Delany, who is also re-known for her paper mosaics, some of which can be viewed at The British Museum in London. The black background would have been totally avant-garde at the time and stood out elegantly. I have seen the original panels of Mrs.Delany's dress and they are botanical madness.
This is actually his fifth opera...

Yes, but probably the first that can be called opera seria.
