i just saw this. i thought of an idea like this years back, and im sure products have existed for a long while. but seriously, i can just imagine all the noise introduced throughout the house, especially those running solid core non shielded romex.

the limit is 256 that is the maximum ip adresses that a router can give + the combined speed off all is still 200megabits per second

It's advertised as up to 200Mbps, but this can degrade depending on how old your house is and how much electrical noise there is in your wiring system.
My PS3 is 2 rooms away from my 2.4 Ghz wireless router, but it kept disconnecting because my wireless is slow and unstable. I bought the Powernet 200, plugged it into a 3-prong wall outlet, connected my PS3 to it and now it can download content with no hiccups.
I'm buying a third powernet to see if it really improves network speed even more.
