A beautiful bird - Red Bull's brand new P-38 Lightning has arrived at NAS Pensacola. Now they just need to get it over a fence and down a road to get loaded on a ship to be taken to Germany, then flown to Red Bull's Flying Bulls HQ in Austria. This aircraft - N2BY - used to be the racing bird known as White Lightning before it suffered a fire and crash in 2001. At that time, it was owned by the Commemorative Air Force's Lefty Gardner.

  • @adonnis010983: It is a T-6 - the Beechcraft Raytheon T-6 Texan II, not the North American T-6. Blame the military for recycling aircraft names. The Texan II's developed from the Pilatus PC-9. I work them every day here at Pensacola Tower.

  • Nice plane!! Please take that Red Bull off the side, Oh Lousy music.

  • @ENCOMAN Look a little deeper. The first piece of music is innocuous and chill, which was the atmosphere while they were bringing the thing over the fence. The second song is a classic redone in a modern style - much like the airplane in the video. It also represents what's going on: this airplane was being shipped over seas and Lord knew when the States were going to see her again.

  • I wonder how many over priced energy drinks it took to pay for that

  • Since her former owner was a member of the then Confederate Air Force now the Commemortive Air Force,I don`t see why they didn`t get the plane instead of Red Bull Racing.

  • Been right by that fence!! :)

  • Thank God for mute ! !

  • Beautiful pieces of AMERICAN history should never be allowed to be removed from American soil. This is a crime against the U.S. Take it back by force if necessary.

  • its a shame that there are only 3 left in the world... god i wish that the fabricks where still making these things...

  • Would have been quicker and cheaper to just take down three or four sections of the chain link fence.......safer too.

  • @243rem

There are actually about 7. I live near the Plames of Fame museum in Southern California and they have 3 or 4 P-38s flying every year at their airshow.

  • if i was that crain driver id be shittin my pants
