Miss Garbo is, to a great degree, responsible for the misrepresentations of her character and personality. If you don't give people enough of a sampling of who you are, or tell your own story, people will fill in the blanks with conjecture.

So did Barry Paris, for that matter. I don't know what special something about his aunt's personality no biographer "gets"--BP used the letters and reminiscences of lifelong friends and family. The nephew must be writing a book.

The subject conveys inaccurate information about Garbo biographies and about Garbo's career history. Greta Garbo: A Cinematic Legacy is a rigorously factual book on Garbo, and does explain her salary strike in detail -- with citations.
