simply buy any dslr camera, and you have that, dof setting.......its called portrait mode...........see nikon d3100 dslr......you can blur out forground, then focus in and blur out background.....its all lens focusing.......I have auto and manual on this camera.....

absolutely! this was posted 4 years ago and has no relevance today unless you dont want the extreme artifacts this lens produce...but I suppose you can do it in post anyway somehow...

Why you not just put the camcorders lens to SLR Camera viewer? The picture would not be flipped and you still could use the autofocus on 35mm lens when video is recorded.

it could work but it would be very heavy (and perhaps look a little silly) to have a camera hanging on your lens.
