Michael Page Clinic--Robert Murphy Stables--May 2009

For my Birthday this year I paid for a clinic with Michael Page. I took Squire down instead of Romeo, which was a last minute decision on my part. I know I made the right decision, Romeo just wasn't ready quite yet. Plus, I really wanted to get some good tips and build my own confidence. Michael Page REALLY helped me! :)

Aw, I wish I could still do all this :( I stopped riding because of an accident but I'm going to start lessons again soon at the Robert Murphy Stables!

And I know first hand how it feels to be in an accident and stop riding. I used to train ottb's regularly and one of them severely broke my leg to the point I had to have reconstructive surgery. But I'm so glad I started riding again! I missed it!

I actually didn't get hurt riding but on the ground. Long story short, I was working with a horse I didn't know well and had him tied to a gate. He reared up, pulled the gate off the hinges, and into the back of my head. I had a severe concussion and all sorts of fun stuff O.o

But I'm working through it! I'm hoping to start back this week! :D I'm excited! Do you go to Robert Murphy stables often?

Either way, an injury like that damages your trust. But the only way to get over it is to get back on and start working at it. You can do it! I still get nervous sometimes, but I'm coming along great now. I have a wonderful trainer and a wonderful, honest, dependable horse. :) That combo makes all the difference!

This clinic was actually my first time ever at RM. But I'll probably go back for some shows next Spring. I live in Florence, KY (close to Cincinnati). But RM is only about an hour!
