What program where you using to transcode the files? I use FCP. All you have to do is insert the SD card and go to file > "log and transfer" and pick the clips you want to transcode. It pretty much does all the work for you. I think it's a lot better than capturing footage off a miniDV tape that's for sure. I've been doing that for so long. I hated that. Plus capturing tapes puts a lot of wear on your camera. What setup do you have now? I just ordered a Panasonic hmc150.

Haha, I'm not going to lie I skate this place way too much. It's about one min from my house though. Wouldn't you skate it a lot too? I'm guessing you're not going to like the next video I post. ;)

i used ulead 11.5 and it was supposed to be the best to edit avchd at the time and i had to smart proxy all my clips and if i didnt they would lagg horribley and it made my computer that has 5g RAM

lagg soo bad but i liked it while i had it it has amazing quality espically with the baby death
