  • @sterben360z

    That race was unfair...

Put stock supra vs stock GN and 100% that GN will fuck that supra out without probs...

  • whats really funny is the buick is probably that guys daily driver and the supra is a trailer queen except when it comes to racing! hahaha plus the GN is privately owned so he dosent get all the sponsership like the supra, put the same money into the GN and then see who wins! GN will win i bet my life on it

  • @chuckmekere - yea. he also went 6.75,

faster than any ugly riceburning supra.

and john raines did 284 mph, faster than the SW shitbox

The LC2 will always make more power than the girly 2JZ for MUCH cheaper.

    (3.8 turbo 6 > 3.0 turbo 6)

let's not forget the 89 Turbo Trans am had the same engine.

who would pick a turd looking shitbox supra over a manly GN anyway,

especially when the gn is better at 1/3 the price?

oh yeah, only a stupid little ricer fag.

  • simply put:

    gn(x) > supra > turbo regal

    len freeman's 6.92 1/4 pass: -------->/watch?v=8K15ANt28Gk

  • @sinusbradycardia TOTALY AGREE MAN NOT SAYNG THAT SUPRAS ARENT FAST JUST SAYING IN A FEW WORDS THAT THERE IS NO WAY THAT A SUPRA CAN FOR EVER BEAT THE BUICK CUZ THERE IS A LITTLE DIFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2 CARS THAT IS UNCHANGEBLE AND ITS THE EXTRA DISPLACEMENT OF THE BUICK AND THE DURABILITY OF THE TURBOED ENGINE OF THE BUICK IN CASE OF A RACE OF RECISTENCE SO THAT THERE IS A 60 TO 40 % OF THE BUICK OWNING VS SUPRA EVEN THO BOTH CARS ARE PRETTY EVEN

  • Why weren't the times posted? Anyway, what motor is in the Supra? I don't know a lot about them. I hear about 2jz a lot and that it can make tons of HP. How much would a Supra, back when they were still in production, cost with the 2jz? The reason I ask, is I'm pretty sure if you by a 2jz block option you will pay a premium for it.

  • . Now let’s consider the Turbo Regal. The stock block with forged internal and billet mains or a girdle I think will handle somewhere between 700 to 800 HP. Turbo Buick experts correct me if I'm wrong. Now back in the early 80's Buick Motor Sports made stage 1 and 2 3.8L blocks, primarily for racing. Production of these blocks and the race parts that went with them stopped production in 1985, please check on this

  • My information comes from the owner of Aggressive Performance. Nowadays it is expensive to buy a stage 1 or 2 block, I'm pretty sure. I do have a point here. Imagine if you will if the Turbo Regal's were offered with either a stage one or stage 2 as an option? I'm not sure of the HP rating of the stage 1 block, but the stage 2 block can produce or handle up to 2500hp. The fastest Buick v6 is Len Freeman, I have seen his car run 6.79 at 208

  • . That is a drag strip car. Fair enough you are never going to see a full street legal Turbo Regal run a sub 7. BTW, back in the early 80's when Buick was dominating the racing scene I've been told, there stage 2 v6 with stage 2 heads was producing somewhere between 500 - 800 HP naturally aspirated. The concept behind the stage 2 blocks was so that on the track the engine could handle the HP and be durable enough so there were no catastrophic failures during the race.

  • I think this history is important because just imagine if Buick Motor Sports would have continued to develop the push rod stage1 and 2 v6. What would that engine be today? So since the stage 2 blocks were not optional, us Turbo Regal owners had to buy the engines from aftermarket if we wanted our Turbo Regal's to go fast and have a reliable engine.

  • Point being, Supra making a 1000HP+ with a stock block, 2jz, you pay for that block and if Buick would have allowed as option the stage blocks in the Turbo Regal’s, then you would in theory have a car with a stock block that handle 2500HP. I thought this was worth mentioning. As my post above points out there are a couple of full weight stock suspension Turbo Regal’s now running in the high 7’s
