A documentary I made during my junior year about eating disorders. There can be many causes of an eating disorder: a coping mechanism, a way to feel control, mental, physical, however with such a short deadline I could only fit in just a few.

you're missing a GIGANTIC part in your documentary. BINGE EATING DISORDER!

B.E.D is the MOST common eating disorder in America. People have it three times more than ppl who have anorexia. It's such a disappointment people associate eating disorders with anorexia and bulimia first over binge eating disorder. Shouldn't everyone know about the one ed that's the most prevalent in our country by such a huge amount? It's so sad.

My ex girlfriend was anorexic, it got to the point where she wouldn't even swallow her spit. I wanted to help but I had no idea how. Thank god she recovered or I don't know if she would be here today.

Every girl on this planet is a beautiful gift that needs to be cherished, don't ever think differently. And to all you insecure girls, you are gorgeous no matter what anyone else says.

@imy32 yes. Thats a disease too! Your self esteem gets soooo low that u c urself that way. Like if ur abused or get bullied and they call u.."fat or stupid or a worthless bitch" watever. U start to believe it.

she's right you know...one day you just wake up...and you don't have the strenghth to get out of bed...people say it's all in your head...and it's not really a disease...how about you starve yourself for a month...and tell me if you don't like the results...if you don't like feeling skinnier. it does sneak up on you...and it drags you further and further down...i'm stilll falling down the endless whole...and the day that i hit the bottom is the day i will stop

Im Jenn and am currently suffering from an ED. My goal is to meet and help others with eating disorders and provide information to those studying the disorders. If you have anorexia, bulimia, any type of ednos, or are addicted to exercise...you are not alone. Sometimes having someone to relate to is a coping technique. @rach0babe well the media isnt strictly the sole cause of eating disorders, however unfortunately they do promote very unhealthy images of celebrities and models who are unhealthily thin and promote them as the ideal body. Yes eating disorders are about control, but sometimes sufferers tend to look at the media as a guide of how they would like to live and look like. Which is terrible.
