The Inverted Spin can simply be described as a rapid descent during which the aircraft is in inverted stalled flight (the engine is still running) where the wings are no longer creating sufficient lift to support the weight of the aircraft. The Fighter Combat instructor is in full control at all times and can recover in a matter of seconds. Due to the aerodynamics of the spin, the aircraft is beyond the normal flight operating envelope stabilized in "auto rotation" due to the yaw-roll couple forces that perpetuate this specific flight condition.
