1st ESSEC Diversity and Performance Chair Academic Conference: J. Takagi, S. Gröschl, L. Bibard

http://www.essec.edu | With participants from across Europe, professors from ESSEC, and managers from the Chair's partners Air France, Deloitte and L'Oreal the Chair professors Junko Takagi, Stefan Gröschl and Simon Nyeck discussed the concept of diversity in different social and legal contexts and from the perspectives of different academic disciplines including sociology; anthropology; psychology; philosophy; and organizational theory.

The Chair's first academic conference stimulated fruitful exchanges of ideas about different approaches to the challenges faced by businesses and organisations of all kinds. The discussions and presentations will be published in the forthcoming book Diversity in the Workplace: Multi-disciplinary and International Perspectives (Gower Publishing) adding a much needed European view and the makings of a conceptual framework to literature on diversity that hitherto has tended to be US orientated and overwhelmingly practice focused.
