1st train on the helix

1st train up the helix. Many thanks to Skeet, who built this helix and the other bench work at his house and then we did final assembly at my house. The layout will be 10x14ft. The bottom level will be a yard and station area, while the top level will be set in the West Virginia mountains. Although its going to be set in WV, your gonna see a little of it all (BNSF, UP, Amtrak, and many others).

question what size radius r you using and what is the width of the plwood u r using for the tracks. i am trying to build one and am using 28" radius and trying to figure how wide so i can get spacers in there. also what is the percent on the grade

@kanishirosouthwester The 2 tracks are 27 and 30 radius. The wood is about 1 inch either side of the roadbed. It equals out to about a 2% grade, which is fine for the size trains I can run on my layout.

Soon as the lift out for the bottom level is done will be able to go around the room. Will be measuring for the second level this weekend
