HeroQuest (or Hero Quest) is a D&D type adventure board game that came out in the late 80s:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HeroQuest_(board_game)

I bought one on ebay that has NEVER been played and we're setting it up for the first time. Yes I know we're both HUGE dorks but we don't care :)

UPDATE April 2009:
I appreciate all the great comments! This video has gotten more comments than any of my other videos.

I actually hated taking the game apart, I mean how often do you find a wonderful 20 yr old game like HeroQuest in brand perfect new condition? But I figured it is a game after all, it was meant to be played, and if I didn't play it someone else would so why not enjoy it. Besides, it was only ~$60, not incredibly valuable. Sure a game specialty shop could probably get 3x that but I don't own a game specialty shop.

Anyways I'll record future games in HQ under better lighting and post them up, and this time I'll play on a table ;)

  • it's easy to say that this is super dorky, but i'm actually almost jealous of the fact that you found this game NOW in such good condition. i used to play this game so much whenever i was in elementary school. there was another game called BATTLE MASTERS that was almost the same thing, but it was on this huge 'battlefield' mat. anyway, AAAA+++++ for posting this up. it really does bring back nothing but good memories of the early 90s.

  • I spent about 2 months on ebay looking for it. I planned on buying a used game and saw this one and spent ~$20 more for it

  • We played the HELL out of this game when I was a kid. We even bought the expansion with the Witch Lord. Eventually when I got into miniature painting for a while during my High School years, I decided to prime and paint all the figures from both boxes. I still have them somewhere in my basement fully painted.

  • Wow, I'm 27 and I had this game when it first came out and I had so much fun with it. I'm really glad to see kids in this generation getting as much fun out of it as I did.

  • Good stuff! I bought mine for about the same price and it is a game, so taking it a part was kinda of hurtful, but worth it! (My copy was not sealed just the pieces and other stuff were sealed).

  • You have a treasure in your hands. Take care about it. Its value is already gold.
