Transformers 3 filming @ Lincoln Memorial | October 13, 2010 | Washington, DC

A compilation of some shots I took around DC. We first went down to 3rd street, as seen in the first few shots. That's where they were supposed to close down the street today at 6:30pm according to the schedule, but then I went down to check out 6th street, another location where they were supposed to shoot.. there I asked one of the guys (which you can see unloading the propane tanks later on) about the filming, and he said that they're not going to - but if I wanted to see them film "crap" I should go check out Lincoln Memorial. So we all headed that way and caught some of what I believe to be VFX shots they were shooting. You can see Bay himself directing. Thanks to an ultra long tele lens I was able to borrow on the spot.

i was in dc less than a month before this, great movie, better than the first two.

Terrorist plot to blow up the Lincoln Memorial! No wait, it's just Paramount.

And all this work so Megatron could rip Lincoln out of his seat in the Lincoln Memorial and sit in his place. In the movie, it happens so brazenly. Nice to see some care, respect and excitement went in to the actual filming of the panorama of shots they needed to blow up ol' Abe in CGI.
