Well I set up a kind of pachinko machine
then fired balls at random force into it.
Then I set them to one force and added traps in each row to see how random they fell. Then I opened the statistics bar and fired 8 balls per sec then the time dialation dropped top around 50 percent. Oh and theres a part in there where I rode a ball down.

Half of the lag is coming from the mass-rezzing of objects, the other half is coming from collisions of many objects in one place. If you notice at 0:45, they bunch up at that one place and hold there for a bit while the spheres try to figure out where to go.
