You tube is a great source for Jeff Lynne material !

Best ever ELO song that was never recorded as an ELO song. This has been a favorite of mine for years. Kids love it too!

Good to see this on You Tube. A track from Jimmy's most underated album Tadpoles In A Jar. The rest of the album is superb and his most personal.

I could listen to Jimmy Nail sing the phone book.

Cool. I thought it WAS Jeff Singing for a moment there.

Liked the song but would love to hear Jeff sing it.
Sounds very Wilbury! Is that George Harrison on slide guitar? Sure sounds like his signature style. Jeff is one of the best at creating layered sound and filling songs with memorable hooks. Good song!

@PSS1014 No George involved I'm afraid, it was all Jeff's handy work!!

For other "best ever ELO-style songs never recorded as an ELO song", be sure to check out "Don't Go Where The Road Don't Go" by Ringo Starr, and also any non-live Japanese-language version of "Asia No Junshin" by the Japanese duo known as Puffy or AmiYumi.

Trouble is, Jeff never wrote this number, Jimmy Nail did. But this does not change the fact it has Jeff's stamp mark all over it.
