  • taking price out of the equation, what are the pros and cons of DT25 vs the DT50. Is it about volume or more about getting louder before breaking up? (I've only ever played at bedroom level with a cube30 so trying to work out what amp to go for, for a band situation)

  • @beewoy its more about out and out volume really. With a mic infront of it (or better still DI out!) the DT25 could happily be used in a stadium anyway but like for like and with no extra help from the PA the 50 is just so much louder. It's really just down to you and which one you prefer. People tend to have a gut feeling about which they want and you can't do much worse than listening to your gut. Both amps can cover gritty tone at low volume so it's more about how much volume you want

  • @AndertonsMusic thanks for the reply!! so how much volume are we talking? I mean I don't anticipate going above a pub or hall sized gig for a good while, do you recon the DT25 is beef enough for that?

  • @beewoy without doubt yes. it would be perfect for pubs and things and as the gigs get bigger (hopefully!) there shoudl be a decent PA capable of taking your DI out anyway! Jobs a good 'un

  • @AndertonsMusic thanks a lot! :-) much appreciated!

  • @beewoy no problem

  • It's a big video! The 1st part shows off just the DT25 as a regular amp, After about 15-20 mins, we show how it works with the Pod HD500, and then for the last 10-15 mins we show the DT25, Pod HD500 & Variax all plugged in together for our "Dream Rig". I think its one of the best video reviews we've ever done, so grab a beer, sit back & enjoy! Cheers from Lee

  • why are you guys so excited about this? isn't it just a smaller version of something you've already seen? what's different about the 25 vs the 50?

  • Ahhh,,,no wonder Andy Carroll is struggling for Liverpool, he's too busy shooting bloody videos like this!

  • the google subtitles put words to paul's playing

    HI

Hard rock yes..metal ??? Never play it so I can't comment. I do play some Satch and Vai pieces (which is about as heavy as I get) and it has been pretty good. Responds well to both single coils and humbuckers.

  • @Nickpatient

Hi Sorry for the late reply. No problems with a drummer.

25 watts in a well-designed amp is more than enough...I used a Laney LC30 for years and have used that in a 1 x 12 cab at festivals playing to thousands. Most of the time in clubs I had the volume on 2-3 with that amp.

With this one I have been running the master on 50% and had no issues at all. I've got a 2 x 12 Laney cab that pushes out plenty of air and it has been great.

  • So when you have the hd500 hooked up it bypasses all the controls on the amp?

  • I never really cared much for Line 6, but this amp seems pretty amazing if you're the kind of guy that wants lots of options. I prefer a more simple setup, ala Mesa Boogie/Marshall/Blackstar.

  • @scottyluvsguitar Is it good for hard-rock and metal? =)

  • the line 6 reviewer guy plays soooooo smooth...

  • @scottyluvsguitar How does this 25 do against a drummer? :)

  • I received one of these on Friday. Used it for three gigs so far - amazing amp! Great Fender and Marshall tones, sits so well in the mix, well balanced EQ. I think it is a fantastic amp!
