Austin Whitney, a UC Berkeley student who was paralyzed in an auto accident four years ago, walked across the stage at his commencement ceremony using the "Austin" exoskeleton, developed by Berkeley's Prof. Homayoon Kazerooni and his team of mechanical engineering students.

This movie is very impressive. Many robots for paraplegia are now being developed in the world. I think WPAL is one of the best robot. You can find WPAL on the youtube.

Why the hell would people dislike this its amazing and beautiful to see someone who is disabled able to reach the goal and do the impossible I don't care how it works that's amazing thank you to the mechanical engineering department at UC Berkeley.

It must've taken him a long time to walk across the stage. Why didn't they show that instead of blah-blah-blah from the speech? I wanted to see how the thing worked. =/ I wonder how long the battery lasts?
Seems kinda similar to the "backpack" exo-skeleton thing the military made, so foot soldiers could carry several hundred lbs. of extra weight for gear.
