On the North Spit near the Oregon coast of Coos Bay North bend, the shipwreck New Carissa is being salvaged. Every now and then she and the sea show signs of fighting back.
This time, as the jack-up barges were preparing to off-load scrap metal, the sea was preparing to fend off the operation and keep it at bay for a while.
As the tug boat and float barge pulled up for the off-load, the swells in the ocean said no. The surf then gave punch after punch until it was knocking the wreck into the legs of one barge.
The only defense was to drop her back to the sand floor and wait.
A little delay but no injuries and no damage.
The Men of Titan lives to fight another day.

Doesn't even look deep enough to cover a full ship.. this stuff is amazing. Nature is a beast!

Another fascinating update on the happenings at the North
Spit. As is often the case, the day started out calm, but I saw the whitecaps on the bay yesterday afternoon on the way to play golf. Looks like Titan is not only brave, but smart. No sense making another mess out there! Thanks, Gene, for your dedication and clever narrative.
