Because it's alpha...there's several stages of testing a game...alpha, which is normally private, but open for download, beta, which is usually by invite to the public, and then at some point later the game is released complete.

original 2 worlds had horrible game glitches at launch and on the PC there were terrible memory leaks. I hope the second one is better. I would rather wait a few more weeks than having them push out a buggy product.
