When was what? Consumers? Are you serious? - I've put more than one post here. They(Goodyear) sell them(both) here in Australia I can assure you. The nct's are good, but you still get the noise due to light rear end and hopping - the Goodyear guys confirmed it as occuring on all front wheel drive cars since the eighties. The idea here is to relay what happened. I'm not into "consumers". Repeat, the nct's are great. There is a deliberate lean on the rear tyres of a vw Golf.
It was not the so much tyres(English spelling), but rather my front wheel drive vehicle - the heavy end(front) seats the tyres well to the road surface, but the light end(rear) allows tyres to imperceptibly "hop" producing high speed intermittent contact with the road surface. The tyre guys knew what it was, and independently validated each others opinions. Exchanging tyres front to rear(same side) helps, but not fixes. NCT's gave me 97,000 Kms, and still legal.
Irregular wear on the inside Shoulder, sounds more like a wheel alignment issue, not a fault with the Tyres, i have driven on several sets of Assurance and have been more than happy.
I put Goodyear Excellence tires on my Golf. They are shit - scalloped out on the inside, and noisy as a four wheel drive tire after 35,000 Kms. No good, but advised by Goodyear website as very good. NCT 5 Eagle were much better. Still noisy though.

when was this? I think you should not miss lead consumers with your lack of information to them!
Goodyear has not sold either of those tires in...... perhaps 10 years?

Back in 2007 I bought a set of Goodyear Nordic winters from Canadian Trash for a good price. I'd recommend them to friends.
