to rocketman. hey man bob cousy and bill russel had to fend off 7 teams. pippen and jordan had to fend off 28 teams. and back then the leauge was mainly white( no offense to whites. come on i love larry bird, jerry west, pistol pete etc. etc. etc.). and pipen and jordan had to take out hall of famers. magic, james worthy(jordans old teammate from nc) joe dumars, isiah thomas, cylde drexler, charles barklely, gary payton, stockton and malone. enough said!!! bulls best team ever!!!!

MJ before Pippen: 85- lost first round to the bucks 86- lost first round to the celtics 87- lost first round to the celtics 88- lost second round vs. Pistons (had pippen but played off the bench) 89- lost in the EC finals Pistons THEN Rodman becomes an Allstar 90- lost in the EC finals Pistons 91- Bulls win their first championship. Point of the story....even MJ couldn't win it by himself and he's the best player ever.

That's very true, the point of all that should show that the best players still need their teammates to hold up just enough of their own weight to let the superstars like Jordan and Kobe do their best. The best players like Jordan and Kobe however don't need as much lifting from their teammates as less talented players do. The less talented you are, the more help you need from your teammates to let you shine; the better you are, the less support you need.
