The word "Alba" means white in Latin :)

"Alb" is a common prefix for names/words meaning white throughout the European cultures, hence we get Albany, Alabaster, Albus (think Dumbledore), Albania, Albion, Albino.

Of course her first name is a feminin form of the Hebrew Jessie :)

It's obvious she is predominantly European. She is of darker complexion but still could fit into most of southern Europe.
