Sod the words. It's the voice that counts. He could sing it Chinese as far as I am concerned.

  • Walter Slezak his son was a famous actor in films and was well known .

  • yes-- the name sounds more Czech or Slovak . He sang so many different roles and so well with that great voice.

  • What's the film?!!!!

  • Leo Slezak was not only one of the greatest tenors ever, but also actor and radio-entertainer? One must read his books. He had an amazing sense of humor! God rest him in peace.

  • He was 195 cm and (later) 150 kg!

  • Great singing, but I wish he ahd recorded this in either Italian or French;' Meyerbeer wrote it in those two versions.

  • To answer stefakamelpash-Leo Slezak was 6'4". Great singer and wonderful personality.

  • Yes, he was truly a giant in body and voice!
