Gina...Dickey Lee

This is the version I remember growing up, not the Mathis version. It took a while(45 years) because I didn't know who sang it, and NO ONE else knew.

I gotta say that the instrumentation on this version is far superior to the "hit" version. Was this a single? or a B side? I'd love to locate a 45 for my juke.

all i remember was that i lived on the west coast, my wife lived on the east coast, and we both remember the song getting playing time. it took me 45 yrs to find out that dickey lee sang it because no one but no one, station programmers, bleeker bob's, the oldies bulletin board,,,anyone who knew anything about oldies DIDN'T know the DL version.

@bertiejr finally some poster at the oldies forum suggested dickey lee but his was only a guess based on my description and he just guessed on the artist, not any recollection of the single. this "gina" had become something of a holy grail for me because no one believed me..

my name is gina and i like this one alot better, as you this is the one i grew up with too... only it went a bit slower. the mathis version is nice but just so different.
