Lullaby Of Birdland-Ella Fitzgerald sings LIVE!

One of my favourite standards sung by the perfect instrument, The First Lady of Song!

Actually, they're right. The timbre here was sweeter and lighter and, from the next decade onwards, it settled into a darker, richer, more chesty vocal colour.

In my opinion, Sarah Vaughan expresses much more emotion when she sings thi song.

OMG! After Ella's performance of this song they should have retired it. NO ONE! NO ONE! Comes within miles of her performance. The song is hers and hers alone. This is coming from an Anita O'Day maniac!
