Cava Event, Vinos de España 2010

The presentation is the first time to be raised in The Netherlands to explain in a more profound way, which is the Cava. Cava is a product that is well-known in The Netherlands, but it is not know enough. We wanted to do a tasting in which were present the wide spectrum of producers of Cava. Obviously, cannot be all of them, but those are important because Cava comes not just from one region of Spain. We might think that only comes from Cataluña. Cava comes from several regions of Spain and here there are represented all regions: La Rioja, Extremadura and Valencia.

It is important that consumers and professionals know that Cava is a product made with quality, which has an attractive price for The Netherlands market. Cava can be found at 60-70 Euros, but we also have very affordable Cava, that in times of crisis, like we have now, it is important to know these products. In this era, where people look for new things and also is interested in sparkling products, Cava is an affordable product for the price and especially for its quality.

Indeed, Spain is a producer and exporter wine country. The Netherlands is in the "top five ". The Netherlands is a country with low wine production and for Spain is very important to be within the "best of five countries ¨. On another hand, many wineries that produce rosé wine and also Cava rosé are directing their production, almost entirely, to countries like The Netherlands.
