Footloose in Fort Myers?

A group of business owners from downtown Fort Myers (The River District) organize as the Art and Entertainment Proprietors' Alliance to be heard at the City Council. At issue is a six year old ordinance that bans 18-20 year olds from entertainment establishments that serve alcohol within the city limits.

While this is an issue for the Fort Myers City Council to decide, not a US congressman, we wanted to offer a peek at the local process from the perspective of the citizens involved, and also compare it to how the press covers the issue: http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200880505086

Over the next few months, I'll be talking with members the Fort Myers City Council about a number of issues. No doubt, this will be coming up again...
