Great to see you figuring out how to add HEI to your bike. Don't sell the stock coil short. That stock coil will easily fire a 4 cycle V8 at 6000 rpm which is like firing a 4 cyl 2 cycle at 6000 rpm or a 1 cyl 2 cycle at 24000 rpm. The secondary voltage of the MSD coil may not be as high as the stocker because it's designed for a higher primary voltage. It's all about the ratio of turns between the primary and secondary coils. Cool stuff.
