Network Rail's 31285 Nocturnal Thrash at Llanelli 26/01/2012

Having had a very eventful week down in West Wales working the 1Q01 Structure Gauging test train, having failed on Cockett Bank on Tuesday, We see the train arriving and departing from a very wet and cold Llanelli Station. having been held for over an hour at Llandeilo Junction. You may notice a purple glow on the DBSO, which wasn't visible to the naked eye, so I will be pleased if anyone could give me an explanation After a swift turn round, and a kind word from one of the Drivers, 31285 makes a spirited departure on its way to Pontardulais on the next leg of its journey. I would like to thank C&A for their company, who unfortunately gave up waiting after over an hour in the wet and cold, to miss all the action by five minutes.

The purple lights are infa red.... invisible to the human eye.... Great video as always

Not sure if you were an early bird or a night owl here Bob. it was a great catch all the same. i am sure you have the answers by now, but try adjusting the white balance. If you set to tungsten or Fluorescent, then a blue or purple effects can result. The lights looked pretty cool all the same....Keith

@MonochromeLoco This was at 20.30 in the evening Keith so not too bad. The purple lights were invisible to the naked eye, and are ultra violet lamps for night work.....Thanks again.....Bob
