Animal behaviorists observe animals in the wild and conclude animals feel they own the territory surrounding them - their domain. Humans are much the same as gorillas in this respect. Who are the big gorillas in our societies? This video references a seminal work by sociologist C. Wright Mills entitled: "The Power Elite" and a new book by David Rothkopf entitled: "Superclass." According to Enlightenment philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau: "The rich form governments to steal from the poor." America's founding fathers all believed the "wealthy estate" should control (i.e. own) the country. Our Power Elite & Superclass are the big gorillas who dominate the domain in which we live. It is the job of Socialists to be aware of this dominance and seek to counteract it. Through control og government the wealthy estate continually redistributes wealth & income from the poor (working class & lower middle class) to the rich. The primary tool used is a regressive tax system. Socialists need to campaign for a progressive tax system. Our social gorillas need to learn we own our domain.
No. The differences between collectivists and objectivists is a matter of means, not the end. The objectives for ALL you mentioned were to perpetuate the standard of living. We can argue if the accomplished it or hindered it, but they were all trying for it.

Thank you, we can understand much of our behaviour with reference to primate hierarchy and strategies. In fact if we look at complex economic ideas as just forms of monkey behaviour their purpose becomes clear. Thinkers like Rousseau, Marx and Mills attempt to advance our species, others like Friedman, Rand, Mises et al, to impede it. We can also see alpha male and female politicians invading territories in much the same way as chimpanzees.

They dont say why not to re-distribute income bc it obvious. Why would anyone strive to succeed if they new they would come out even? To re-distribute is to limit competition & eliminate productivity.
When have we EVER had full employment? You are quick to forget the thirty years of economic prosperity that accompanied monetary control & "neo-con" movement.
No. That is not called equilibrium. That is called excessive govt and excessive govt regulations.
You know the Berlin Wall fell right?

It is progressive in name only- This is AFTER the money is collected...
This is for 2005...
Top 1% paid 39.4% of ALL Federal Income Tax
2%-5% paid 20.3% of ALL Federal Income Tax
6%-10% paid 10.6% of ALL Federal Income Tax
11%-25% paid 15.7% of ALL Federal Income Tax
26%-50% paid 10.9% of ALL Federal Income Tax
And Bottom 50% of Americans paid 3.1% of ALL Federal Income Tax.
Again i ask you, if govt is always taken over by crooks, why would we want to increase the size of govt?
