In the most recent survey conducted by the BBC and Harris Poll, more than 60 percent of respondents said the US is worse than other countries when it comes to teaching math and a majority expressed the same opinion about the science curriculum in the US.
So how can those numbers be turned around? In South Korea the answer lies in longer days and a much stricter study regimen. It is a model which even President Obama has praised but it is not without its drawbacks.

@CryInTheAttic I don't get your point. I'm asking because people have given the impression from some places that you can get a 'teaching license' in america (whatever that entails) without having a degree in the spesific field.

You said: "yes they will teach biology in college or high school" I think you misunderstood me I DIDN'T write "Do teachers in the US teach biology?"
I wrote:
"Do teachers in the us GET DEGREES in biology to teach biology" in other words do they have a degree in the spesific content of the subject they teach?

@stiaa04 usually yes they will teach biology in college or high school :)
& yes one thing very important in US is and must be social skills...you have to be able to know when even put on a fake persoanlity ALL THE TIME it sucks hehe but yes thats the way it is :/ So yes I see why they wouldn't hire South koreans because they may lack the quality to be able to communicate well...which I don't agree with...if they have the brains give them the job!!
