  • @randomandrare You should see if you can find Nona Baby and Talk that Talk....you would find those as Johnny Lee Williams (which is his birth name) or Johnny "The Twist" Williams. He is often confused with Johnny Williams, who did Slow Motion...whom incidentally Johnny Twist also discovered....

  • You might also be interested in knowing that he arranged the music for Koko Taylor's hit record Wang Dang Doodle and was a star in St Louis, along with Ike Turner and Chuck Berry during the mid 50's.

  • My name is Avery Pack and I worked for years as Johnny Twist's assistant through a lot of the 90's. He actually owned this label Dud Sound with Oscar, and also produced Mack Simmons, Arlean Brown, and Artie "Wild Child" Butler. He owns his Bluesville store on 64th and Cottage Grove in Chicago. He is now over 70 is still independently producing his own recordings. Thank you for posting his music. Johnny was like a mentor and second father to me.

  • Great sound and record. I had the song on a Willie Dixon album - same words but completely different tune/phrasing
