Everglades restoration -- involvement by the National Academies and others

The National Academies continually reviews the Everglades restoration efforts and issued biennial reports of its findings. The U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) conducts audits of Everglades restoration activities. See: http://tinyurl.com/GAO-Everglades-reports

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is among the principles of the many agencies and organizations involved in the Everglades restoration efforts. SFWMD has an independent peer review by outside scientists done every year that is published as the South Florida Environmental Report (SFER). See: http://www.sfwmd.gov/sfer/

There is also a South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Taskforce which coordinates and evaluates the Everglades restoration activites. See: http://www.sfrestore.org

Water Resources Advisory Commission (WRAC) is an advisory body to the South Florida Water Management Governing Board and the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force. It is a forum for improving public participation and decision-making about water resource issues in south and central Florida.
