Four Rescue Rats

We rescued these four rats from Iberia Animal Control today. Their skin and fur is in really bad shape. They were seized in a hoarder situation a couple weeks ago. It seems these four rats were found in an aquarium that appeared to have never been cleaned. The poor boys literally suffered from acid burns from sitting in pools of their own urine. Other rescues and people stepped up for the other animals. But, no one wanted the rats. Once they are vetted and healthy again, they will be available for adoption. they look like rex rats the fur is suppose to look that way on a rex or double rex. i dont know about the skin though

@CursedK9 Yes, they are rex rats. Their skin condition was caused by urine acid burns from being kept in an aquarium that was not cleaned regularly.

four male rats feel want say thank you safe life ..I have double rex rat look like hairless but can grow back hair ..that rats make me very sad see awful fur as soon they will health hair grow look normal take few week

well done for rescuing them ^_^ i save ratties too, currently we've got 8. the last two we saved looked really bad but now they're coats are full again and they're really happy <3

oh my gosh... this is so sad... i cannot believed that people treat animals like this, no matter how small!... this breaks my heart, but i'm happy to know they were rescued! poor little guys :(( at first i thought that they had rex coats because they looked kinda curly... but that's because of the horrible conditions they were kept in.
