behind every ribbon,
there is a struggle.
an ache in your legs.
a horse that never gave up.
the loud pounding, and then silence.
air.
when a horse jumps, that's all you hear.
silence, but a definite noise.
I bond built based on
trust, and
energy.
a pain worth suffering,
a risk worth taking.
Because in a horse, there is a heart
worh every ribbon in the world.

So this is my poem. It's basically why I ride. I don't ride for the ribbons, although ribbons are nice. I ride for the bond. for the pain, and the risk. and for that brief moment of silence, when a horse is thundering up to the jump, and you can actually hear air. that is the most beautiful sound in the world, to me.
