@gordopie11 i agree with you completely but keep in mind that not all pet owners keep their parrots caged up all day i have an african grey parrot and we allow him to fly around the house freely

I'm not sure which was the pet but he would certinly qualify as a family member in any home, he's closer to a child. I have heard people say that what separates man from animals is that animals cannot reason, so they cannot have a soul. Ahem... this raises many questions, doesn't it?

@IDQMF Imagine you are being confined to a wheelchair and have never tasted the joy of walking upright as a human being . Your entire existence is being a subject of someone else's life-long experiment for which the end result is already known. When I watched the videos, I see Alex have asked Pepperberg many times that he wants to go back - meaning he doesn't want to do it anymore but Pepperberg kept forcing him to continue. If this is not mental torture, I don't know what is.
