http://www.worldbank.org/climatechange - In the United States, this is the busiest travel week end of the year, because of the American holiday of Thanksgiving. But in Lagos, Nigeria, every day can mean gridlock; getting around Lagos takes patience and strong nerves. Up to 17 million people live here and 7 million of them are on the road every day, fighting for every bit of space. But since 2008 a new bus system, funded by the World Bank and other donors, is making the way to work a safe, fast, and affordable trip. It has turned the people of Lagos into public transport fans.

  • @statictech7 - I asked because Nigeria is NOT a poor country.

Its natural resources are oil and natural gas (37% of 2006 GDP), tin, columbite, iron ore, coal, limestone, lead, zinc.

Nigerians need to get their act together.

Nigeria is just one of many African countries that hand over control to the World Bank.

I dread to think of the interest they're paying on the bank's funding.

  • @bburg0408 because Drake and Lil Wayne are too busy getting high and blowing each other on top of a mountain of money to help the rest of the world. To anyone reading this consider joining the peace core, make a difference with your life.

  • Why is this project part funded by the World Bank?

  • And lol that they have a guy tearing the tickets and not a machine. Not to disrespect those that live there, but I think I just might. God damn you are all fucking stupid you are coming up with shit that we have a few years ago.
