@mgarforth ah, yes i am very familiar with mosquito bomber construction. interesting note about that aircraft. the glue used could also be dried with microwaves and was thus radar absorbing. and with the addition of charcoal to the glue the effect was even more pronounced.

@datzfast i figured! there are some really interesting older wodden aircraft designs out there. the mosquito was one where they had no frame, but was a stressed birch-balsa plywood monocoque. I think they used a doped cotton for the skin on the wing.

@datzfast yea i was just joking, but, im in the same boat so to speak, the best i cam do would be foreskins.
any way i was watching because the building techniques result in strong lightweight structures such as aircraft

Traditionally, this would have been covered in seal skin, however the point of the construction in this case was to build the boat using materials at hand. The idea was that a good boat would be the result of a design suited to the water and materials sourced to the region. Clubbing seals or shooting polar bears in Southern Ontario wasn't really an option. Now if I were building it up north, that would be a whole different story.

why not cover it in traditinal polar bear urinary bladders.
Focus! Focus!

I know. As I said below, it's a compression issue and I haven't had the time to try and find a good codec to upload to utube.

@mgarforth just upload the original. Don't compress it first.

@BeeRich33 when I have time I'll try that. When I originally uploaded this video, youtube wouldn't accept a video with a large file size.
