He is not just the 2006 Nobel Literature Laureate. Orhan Pamuk is also a symbol of Turkey's struggle to be part of the EU. In recent weeks, he has been travelling around Europe and the US to promote his latest novel, 'The Museum of Innocence'.

Turkish Army and Ataturk is HEROS of the CENTURY

  • You are delusional.

Turks are the most fiercely nationalistic people on the planet. Insulting Ataturk is a punishable crime in Turkey. In their elite army, their soldiers have to prove `racial purity' going back generations.

You actually think the Turks are going to give all that up for the vague bullshit `one world' promises from Brussels?

If you do, you know nothing about history or human nature.

  • Pamuk is deluded on this point.

no mohamedan country should ever have "a place in Europe" for reasons that are obvious to any honest person. Pamuk is lucky to be alive... his fellow mohamedans crave his violent demise. This is vanity - hypocritical delusion.

  • "Turkey has place in a Europe of "liberté, egalité, and fraternité""

Yeah, so does Africa and China and Papua New Guinea, if we're just letting everyone "in" Europe.
