I get why parents say "Because I said so" BUT I do not agree with it. Though it's effective and works, your not giving an actual reason why explaining to them why they can't do something, or etc. Therefore they can learn from it. By just saying "Because I said so" won't do any good in the long run, because the child will most likely not listen and change because they haven't been enlightened of the issue.

I love when she says that Audrey has a right to a childhood, it seemed like her own way of not only setting Audrey straight but also, to some degree, an apology for Jenny- Jenny didn't get much of a childhood and Helen wants to make sure Audrey does.
