When facing a crisis many just try to "get though it" with the least amount of damage -- they are willing to be a victim as opposed to a master of their circumstances. They put their heads in the sand (and get their competitive/market share butt kicked). They hunker down and hope that it will pass and everything will return to normal. Yet history has shown it usually doesn't go back to normal. As they bury themselves deep in their bunker, there are others who step up to the challenge -- those who look for the opportunities, play big and emerge as the winner. Some unfortunately go right into a defensive mode while others choose to take a more offensive stance.
The greatest opportunity belongs to those who use a challenge/crisis/chaos to improve their business and themselves -- you must constantly stay focused on winning. They know how to keep their head up in a crisis.
