  • What a Grand old man "Johnnie" Johnson is, Watching this video, and the story of his unfortunate comrades makes me realise just how precious life is. We should always be indebted to him, and all the men like him.

  • @srmsykes After researching ww2 for so many years I have to say this must have been the most accurate bombing campaign of the entire war!

What a man he is to have been not only one of the few but one of this few. What a man!

  • things like this should be shown in schools to kids at an early age to make them appreciate our heroes sacrifices and give them respect for our country.i have so much pride and respect for what we as a nation did in both world wars.god bless all in bomber command that gave their lives for us and all our war vets we will never forget them

  • Thanks so much for posting this video.

It was very inspiring to watch Johnny re-visit his past and listen to his reflections on his experiences, and those of others on the ground, that night in 1943.

    Thank you,

  • Thank you for this. Johnny is a courageous man not only for his military service but even more so for encountering and confronting the past. Most people are too weak, blind and frightened. I salute you and all your comrades.

  • Bless em all!!! Around 1990 I was in a mall in Sault Ste. Marie Ont and bought a poppy from a veteran wearing his legion blazer complete with a row of medals and air gunner wing. One of the medals was the DFC. I said to him you've had some excitement. He replied, "One night in particular." I asked his squadron and he replied 617. His name was Dave Roger and he was the tail gunner in T for Tommy. A humbling experience for me and one I shall never forget. Thanks for posting this.
